Michael D. Vinson, 66, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.

He was born May 3, 1956, in Shelbyville, the son of Maurice and Doris (Quick) Vinson.  On December 18, 1974, he married his wife, Teresa G. Rodgers, and she survives.

In addition to Teresa, Mike is survived by his son, Michael Dale Vinson and wife, Ana, of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Rachel Vinson of Waldron; brother, Ron Vinson and wife, Naomi, of Shelbyville; sister, Debbie Monroe of Greenfield; grandchildren, Clayton, Lauryn, Riley, Victoria, Luis and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Everly, Aubrey, Charlotte, Russell and Mila; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard G. Vinson; and sisters, Brenda Gambrell and Wanda Vinson.

He was a US Army veteran.

Mike had formerly worked at Johnson Control and Brazeway, retiring in 2005.

He enjoyed going fishing and hunting.

Visitation will be from 10 am to noon, Monday, December 19, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County.
