Warren Johnson, 94, of Waldron, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg.

Born August 3, 1928 in Crabtree Community of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, he was the son of Carrick Johnson and Laura Ethel (Wilson) Johnson.  He was married to Arlene (Moore) Johnson  for 69 years, and she preceded him on January 20, 2016.

Survivors include 2 sons- Denny Johnson of Waldron, Terry Johnson (wife Linda) of Waldron, a daughter Cindy Best (husband Steve) of Waldron; 5 grandchildren- Leslie Cruea, Jaimi Hemmerich, Jeremiah Johnson, Nick Johnson, Nate Best; and 12 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, a son Tom Johnson, granddaughter Tammy Johnson, and 5 sisters- Lucy Whitehead, Edith Smith, Nell Alexander, June Wilson, and Irene Shell.

Mr. Johnson had lived in this area for 66 years, and retired from GM Allison in Indianapolis after working for 36 years in skilled trades.  He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Warren enjoyed fishing, square dancing, and their vacation home on Lake Cumberland.  Warren's family were so grateful to have had him for as long as they did.  He will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St.,  St. Paul, with Rev. Marcy Patrick officiating. 

Burial will be in Napoleon Lutheran Cemetery. 

Friends may call on Monday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service. 

Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
