Ernesto Diaz Blanco “Junior”, 60, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at MHP.
He was born on July 18, 1962 in Pheonix, AZ to Rosa (Diaz) Lubiano.
Ernesto was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and he was a local chef for many years.
He was a very talented wood worker and loved to build things. He also enjoyed drawing and being creative. Ernestos favorite times were spent hanging with his buddies and being around family.
He married Heather (Gearhart) Blanco on November 14, 2011 and she survives.
Ernesto is also survived by brothers, Rudy Murillo, Ulvaldo Herrera, Johnny Blanco, Joe Blanco, Isais Blanco, Manuel Herrera, Benito Ramirez; sisters, Mary Cuca Herrera, Concepcion Herrera, Rosa Blanco; children, Ernesto Velasquez Blanco, Tommy Velasquez Blanco, Antonio Velasquez, Mariah Velazquez Blanco, Cruz Sandra Martinez, Marissa Blanco; step children, Jordan Kelso, Jakob Kelso; god son, Xavier Cox; god daughter, Willow Cox; ex-wife/good friend, Annie Greathouse; 9 grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, son, Ricardo Blanco; daughters, McKayla Blanco, Marisol Gearhart; nephew, Scotty Sheppard; uncles, Richard (aka) Tio Panchito, Crespin (aka) Tio Pelon.
A Gathering of Friends will be Friday, July 28, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 p.m. with Father Mike Keucher officiating.
