James Frank Robinson, 90, of Shelbyville

James Frank Robinson, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

He was born August 13, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN. to George C. Robinson Sr. and Mary B. (Kelley) Purdue.

Frank attended Arsenal Tech High School.

He worked at Shelbyville High School in custodial services for over 20 years before retiring in 1997.

Frank honorably served in the United States Army.  He was a longtime member of the Evangelical Methodist Church as well as the American Legion Post 70.  Frank enjoyed music and tinkering in his basement.  His favorite times were spent with his family and he could often be heard sharing memories and historical facts with them.

He married Betty R. (Turner) Robinson on June 30, 1957 and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2021.

Frank is also survived by his daughters, Midge (husband, Ronnie) Johnson, Atha (husband, Tony) Derby; son, Chuck (wife, Yolonda) Robinson; daughters, Brenda (husband, Dave) Lane, Linda (husband, Steven) Lamb; grandchildren, Audry, Adam, Shayna, Katie, Tucker, Jocelyn, Lilly, Mason; great-grandchildren, Faithe, Raiden; sisters, Mary Hurst, Betty Lacey, Sharon Arthur. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Della Black, Kathy; brothers, George Robinson, Clarence Robinson; great-grandson, Brock.

Visitation will be Monday, July 31, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Evangelical Methodist Church, 267 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, IN. 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at Evangelical Methodist Church with Rev. James Coulston officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Garden in the Heros of Honor and Glory section with military rites conducted by our local Veteran organizations.
