Nora B. Benefiel, 91, of Fairland

Nora B. Benefiel, 91, of Fairland, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at

Waldron Health Care.

Born June 25, 1932 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of  Kenneth Hoffman

and Anna Jane (Land) Hoffman.  She married George Benefiel Jr. on October 1, 1950 and he preceded her on July19, 2003.

Survivors include 5 children- Kenneth Benefiel (wife Tera) of Burrton, Kansas, Karen Miller (husband Brian) of Fairland, James Benefiel (wife Karen) of St. Paul, Brenda Wilson (husband  David) of Rays Crossing, David Benefiel (wife Angela) of Shelbyville; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents her spouse, and 2 brothers- Amos Hoffman and William Hoffman.

Mrs. Benefiel was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a home maker.  She had previously been a factory worker at Admiral Corp. and Excel , retiring after several years of service.  She graduated from Waldron High School in 1950 and attended Waldron Methodist Church.  She was a member of the American Legion, Shelby Senior Center, and the Red Hat Society.

Nora enjoyed bowling, sewing for people, knitting and crocheting, reading, and attending senior and Red Hat functions and activities.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating. 

Burial will be in Paul Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the  funeral home.
