Joseph Stanley Hannell, 72, of Morristown, passed away, Monday, September 4, 2023, at his home.

He was born June 19, 1951, in Indianapolis, the son of Joseph M. and Marjorie Anne (Grider) Hannell.  On March 1, 2002, he married Diane M. Holtz, and she survives.

In addition to Diane, Joe is survived by children, Joseph Hannell of Martinsville, Jennifer Workman and husband, Gary, of Morristown, John Gray of Greenwood, Jessica Stainbrook and husband, Jay, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Jeff Hauk and wife, Laura of Martinsville, Darrin Hauk and wife, Angie of Martinsville, and Leslie Hauk of Martinsville; sister, Loretta Collucci; mother of some of his children, Reta Hannell of Martinsville; grandchildren, Myla, Katie, Nate, Eli, Sadie, Miri, Clara, Olivia, Sky and Wes; six great-grandchildren; and numerous  nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathie Thomason; sons, Christopher Hannell, Brian Hauk and Brian Kingery.

In 1969, Joe graduated from Warren Central High School.

Joe owned and operated Hannell Flooring.

He enjoyed listening to music, sitting on the patio with friends and family, playing on his tractor and going fishing.

Joe was a dad, best friend and mentor to many through the years.

A Celebration of Joe’s life will be from 2 to 5 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2023, at their home located at 11202 North County Road 200 East in Morristown.
