Donnie L. Hensley, 65, of Greenwood

Donnie L. Hensley, 65, of Greenwood, passed away on September 2, 2023, at IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.

 He was born May 26, 1958 in Rushville to Donald Hensley and Linda (Crisman) Elliott. He married Deborah (Taylor) Hensley on June 18, 1993 and she survives.

 Other survivors include children Tatum (Chris) Bratcher of Kentucky, Kelly (Jason) Hensley of Columbus, Stacey (Justin) Dibbern of Beech Grove, Ralph Street of Greenwood, and Nikki (Mike) Asbury of Indianapolis. Siblings Rick (Pat) Crisman of Shelbyville, Larry (Penny) Hensley of Homer, Tim (Terri) Hensley of Shelbyville, Mike (Peggy) Elliott of Shelbyville, Steve (Cozetta) Elliott of Greenwood, Richard (Leasa) Elliott of Shelbyville, David (Joyce) Elliott of Greenwood, Angie (Bruce) Schwering of St. Paul, and Harold (Diane) Taylor of Greenwood, 5 Grandchildren, Lily, Hunter, Madison, Carter, and Daylin, and 2 Great Grandchildren Lydia, and Kellin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 Son Joseph R. Street.

Mr. Hensley graduated from Shelbyville High School and was a resident of Shelbyville until moving to the Greenwood area where he had lived for the past 32 years.  He was a factory worker for Williams Industries for 20 years, and also worked for 3M factory for 17 years.

He attended Greenwood Baptist Church.

 Donnie loved his girls, "Sassy Pants" and "Sadie Girl", he loved boating, fishing, feeding his pet squirrel "Rocky", and telling jokes, but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his Grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, on Saturday September 9, 2023 at 2:00pm, with visitation from 11am until the time of service.  

 Burial will be held at The Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County.
