Betty L. Bray, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born March 5, 1931 in South Bend, IN. to John Lackman and Georgia (Billington) Lackman.
She married Walker “Bill” Bray on March 18, 1950 and they shared 66 wonderful years together before he passed on January 22, 2017.
Betty enjoyed going for rides and traveling all over with her late husband. She also enjoyed playing on her computer making cards and working puzzles.
Betty worked at Notre Dame in South Bend for many years as a switchboard operator. She then worked at Walmart in Shelbyville before retiring.
Betty is survived by her son, Paul Bray; daughter, Susan (husband, Norman) Winkler; son-in-law, Michael Horvath; grandchildren, Norman (wife, Karla) Winkler Jr., Lori (husband, Bobby) Stieneker, Melissa (husband, Owen) Winkler-York, Joshua Winkler, Sherri Musole; great-grandchildren, Ryan Winkler, Bailey Winkler, Peyton Winkler, Lucas Stieneker, Layton Stieneker, Levi Stieneker, Layne Stieneker, Olivia York, Colin York, Brooklyn Winkler, Elly Sue Winkler, Lillyan Winkler, Cheryl Drake, William Drake, Christian Drake and Blake Mtambo; sister, Georgia Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son, John Bray; brother, John Lackman; sister, Melba Billington.
