Ronald Eugene Vinson, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his residence.

He was born October 4, 1950 in Shelbyville, IN. to Maurice Vinson and Doris (Quick) Vinson.

Ronald served in the United States Marine Corp from 1967-1971, then he joined the United States Army from 1974-1978.

He worked at Firestone for 15 years.

Ronald was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.  He loved to tinker with things, and was always up and ready to go to garage sales and to the auctions.

He married Naomi Gaye (Monroe) Vinson and she survives.

Ron is also survived by his daughters, Angela Vinson, Heather Wilkerson; son, Mitchell Vinson; sister, Debbie Monroe; grandsons, Josh Vinson, Austin Wilkerson; granddaughters, Morgan Wilkerson, Megan Eads; great-grandchildren, Harmonee Vinson, Oliver Vinson, Jace Wilkerson, Kamryn Barngrover, Cole Baldwin, Emily Baldwin, Quinn Vinson, Ozzy Vinson, Damien.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Brenda Vinson, Wanda Vinson; brother, Mike Vinson.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 20, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jose Rivera officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens with military rites conducted by our local Veteran organizations.
