Lisa Michelle (Petro) Waggoner, 60, of the Bengal Community of Shelby County, IN passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 11, 1962 in Beech Grove, IN to Leon Albert Petro and Versa (Cecil) Petro.  She married Brian J. Waggoner on April 3, 2003 in Sevierville, TN, he survives.

Lisa was a 1981 graduate of Whiteland Community High School.

She had been a bookkeeper for Sterylab in Franklin, IN for seven years.  Previously she had been an education director for the Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation Office in Franklin and a teacher’s aid for the Franklin Community School Corporation.  She was a member of Bengal Christian Church in Shelby County.  Lisa and her husband Brian enjoyed raising goats for over 18 years.

Survivors include her husband Brian J. Waggoner of Bengal, IN, her children Amanda Mawhinney (Jason Bever) of Crawfordsville, IN, Blake Newkirk (Corey) of Bengal, IN Michele Waggoner (Joe Boylen) of Bengal, IN, and Jacob Waggoner of Bengal, eight grandchildren Elijah, Ella, Izzy, Brayden, Mason, Lucas, Scarlet and Orion, her sisters Pamela C. Pohlar (Trent) of Southport, North Carolina and Jana L. Bass (Brad) of Shelbyville, IN two brothers Michael L. Petro (Darnell) of Blairsville, GA and David E. Petro (Jennifer) of Francisville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald L. Petro.

Pastor Scott Phenis will conduct a celebration of life service on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 6PM at Bengal Christian Church, 3518 South Shelby 750 West, Franklin, IN, 46131. 

Friends may call from 4PM until service time at the church.
