Larry E. Grose, 79, of Greenfield

Larry E. Grose, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

He was born in Greenfield on July 6, 1944 to John William Grose, Jr. and Helen Mae (Gates) Grose.

He graduated from Hancock Central High School with the class of 1964.

On August 29, 1965, Larry married Mary Jane (Peacock) at Trinity Park Church in Greenfield. In 1970, he graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy in Bloomington.
Following graduation from high school, he worked as a contractor for Robert Willits Construction Co. for over 10 years. After graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy, he worked for the Greenfield Police Department until 1991. From 1991 to 2013, Larry worked at Indianapolis Airport as a police officer and then spent 7 years working at Hancock Regional Hospital as a security officer. He was a member of the Hancock County FOP #140 and Trinity Park United Methodist Church. In his free time, he liked woodworking projects, riding his Harley and being a firearms instructor. Larry enjoyed fitness, lifting weights and walking 5 miles a day on the Pennsy Trail. He loved to spend time with his family and travel with his wife, Jane.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jane Grose; children, Regina (David) Bever, Ryan Grose and Cindy (Tim) Lanman; grandchildren, Brandi (Blake) Crull, Blaine (Hope) Bever, Deven (Sarah) Grose, Dylan (Hannah) Grose, Kenzie Lanman and Kyle Lanman; great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Josie, Sylvia and Blaire; and siblings, Donald Grose, Linda Ritchie and John (Patricia) Grose. He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Helen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 91st St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 and Suburban Hospice, 801 N State St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary during services.
