James "Jim" S. Zinman, 85, of Shelbyville

James “Jim” S. Zinman, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday November 2, 2023 at MPH Medical Center.

He was born July 17, 1938 in Harrodsburg, KY. to Henry Zinman and Anthy Zinman.

Jim worked as a custodian for Morristown High School and Elementary.  In his down time he enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns on TV.  He also enjoyed going to various flea markets.  Jim loved traveling to the Smoky Mountains and cherished the times he was able to make memories with his family.

He married Mary Alice (Wicker) Zinman on October 30, 1960 and spent 63 wonderful years together and she survives.

Jim is also survived by his daughter, Kelly (husband, Brian) Tackett; his grandson, Zachary Zinman; granddaughters, Mackenzie (husband, Nathaniel) Prichard and Jaclyn Tackett (fiance, Aaron Yoder); his sister, Debbie (husband, Bill) Johns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James “Jimmy” S. Zinman Jr.; his daughter, Mary Kay Zinman; his brothers, Chester Zinman, Louis Zinman and Tom Zinman; his grandson, Dennis “Scotty” E. Zinman.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Albert officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
