Leonard Cass, 74, of Fountaintown

Leonard Cass, 74, of Fountaintown, passed away Wednesday November 1, 2023 at his residence.

He was born August 14, 1949 in Shelbyville, IN. to William C. Cass and Gladys P. (Gahimer) Cass.

Leonard graduated from Morristown High School in 1968.

Leonard honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1969-1975 and was a proud Veteran.

He worked at Standard Register in maintenance for over 30 years before retiring.

He was a member of Fountaintown Methodist Church.  Leonard was also an amateur ham radio operator and his call was WB9MQA.

Leonard loved being outdoors.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, and even scuba diving when he was younger.  He also had a love for music.  His family was the most important to him and he cherished the times he was able to spend with them.

He married Robin (Wood) Cass on December 31, 1977 and she survives. They spent 45 loving years together.

Leonard is also survived by his son, Richard (wife, Wendy) Cass; his daughter, Rhonda Cass; his son, Robert (wife, Veronica) Cass; his grandchildren, Johann, Marlee, Alec, Courtney, Cadence, T.J., Brooke, Hannah, Alyssa, Dylan, Savannah, Ben, Charlie, Tristen and Sammie; his brother, William (wife, Wanda) Cass Jr.; and his former spouse, Jenny Hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Heather Smith; his granddaughter, Cheyenne Smith; his brothers, John Cass and Donnie Gahimer.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at funeral home with Pastor Michael Smith officiating.

Military rites will be conducted by our Local Veteran Organizations.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Leonard’s family.
