John Frank Wurtzbaugh, 78, of Shelbyville

John Frank Wurtzbaugh, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at his residence.

Born June 24, 1945 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Frank Wurtzbaugh and Sarah Leola (McKenney) Wurtzbaugh. He married Rose Marie (Crafton) Wurtzbaugh on August 28, 1965, and she survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons- Timothy Jon Wurtzbaugh (Elizabeth) of Shelbyville, Brian Scott Wurtzbaugh (Clarissa) of Shelbyville; 2 brothers- Maynard "JJ" Jones of Shelbyville, Mike Jones (Betty) of Ohio; sister-Rita Gallagher (Kevin) of Colorado; 4 grandchildren- Natashia Wurtzbaugh, Katlyn Warfield, Faith Wurtzbaugh, Christian Wurtzbaugh; 2 great grandchildren- Carlie Mae Warfield & Jadelyn Hempstead. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Michelle Beth Wurtzbaugh and sister Mary Kessler.

Mr. Wurtzbaugh had lived in this area his entire lifetime and attended Shelbyville High School. John attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, and was a factory worker for Federal Mogul (BCA) of Greensburg for 38 years and was also a school bus driver for Shelbyville Central Schools for 11 years. John enjoyed fishing and tinkering with his '57 Chevy. He dearly loved his family and grandchildren, and spending time with them.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating. Friends may call on Friday evening, November 24, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
