Terri New, of Shelbyville, passed away December 7, 2023 at Hancock Memorial Hospital. She was born in Shelbyville on December 5, 1957 to Jesse and Lillian (Loftus) Weaver.

She graduated from high school in Baxter, Tennessee, moved back to Shelbyville and married Roger New Sr. They had been married for 48 years when she passed.

Terri worked in real estate for several years, and last worked in the accounting department at Indiana Downs. She enjoyed horseback riding with her Tennessee Walker Show Horses, and enjoyed spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her son Roger New Jr. in 2019.  She is survived by her husband Roger, stepson Travis New of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren- Justice, Johnathon, Aleah, and Jameson; sisters-in-law Shelly New, Norma Wells, & Betty Nedderman, all of Shelbyville, who were as close as any sisters could be. She also is survived by her cousin Joyce and was very close to her niece Stacy.  

She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with David Benefiel officiating.

Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery. 

Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
