Triton Central captures Shelby County Boys Track and Field Meet title

With a pair of relay victories and wins in three of the four field events, Triton Central easily captured the Shelby County Boys Track and Field Meet title Wednesday at Waldron High School.

 

Triton Central won seven of the 15 events contested to amass 96 points while Southwestern (49), Morristown (44) and Waldron (36) completed the team standings.

 

Kegan Schalk won the shot put with a best throw of 45 feet, eight inches. Fellow Tiger Mason Krebs won the discus (106-10) and David Steele cleared 5-6 to win the high jump competition.

 

Triton Central also swept the hurdles races with Ethan Cales crossing the finish line first in the 110-meter hurdles (17.22) and Jack Baker taking first place in the 300 hurdles (46.59).

 

The quartet of Brayden Wilkens, Anthony Dunville, Ray Crawford and Brad Schultz won the 400 relay in 46.8.

 

Wilkins and Dunville teamed with Devin Hayden and Devon Emberton to win the 1,600 relay

(3:53.48).

 

Southwestern won the 3,200 relay. Ryan Griffin, Collin Cummings, Dane Kissell and Riley Snepp crossed the finish line first in 9:26.87.

 

Snepp also took first in the 1,600 (5:08.65).

 

Morristown got event wins from Kamdyn Gaines in the 400 (57.81) and Jacob Batten in the 800 (2:19.28).

 

Tyler Bowlby captured first place in three events – the 100 (11.20), the 200 (23.50) and the long jump (21-00.75).

 

Waldron’s Ethan Trueblood won the 3,200 (11:02.3).
