Southwestern ranked No. 6 in state baseball coaches association poll

The Shelby County Tournament and Mid-Hoosier Conference champion Southwestern Spartans are ranked No. 6 in the most recent Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association's State Poll.

 

The Spartans are 16-4 this season and recently clinched the MHC championship.

 

Southwood is ranked No. 1 in the Class A poll, followed by North Daviess, Oldenburg Academy, Fremont and Shakamak. After Southwestern, the rest of the top 10 is Washington Township, Rossville, Loogootee and Borden. 

 

Hauser is ranked 13th.

 

Cascade sits atop the Class 2A poll ahead of Wapahani, Lafayette Central Catholic, Monroe Central, Carroll (Flora), Centerville, University, Delphi, Southwestern (Hanover) and Seeger.

 

The 3A poll is topped by Hanover Central. The remainder of the top 10 is Leo, Lebanon, Silver Creek, West Vigo, Batesville, Fort Wayne Dwenger, Western, Peru and Brebeuf.

 

Carmel is No. 1 in 4A ahead of Columbus North, Center Grove, Evansville North, Westfield, Andrean, New Albany, McCutcheon, Zionsville and Homestead.
