Late Knightstown rally brings end to Triton Central's baseball season

Knightstown’s strong finish was enough to end Triton Central’s baseball season Thursday in the semifinal round of the Heritage Christian Sectional.

The Panthers scored three runs in the fifth inning to tie the game and added three more in the sixth to secure a 9-6 victory and a spot in Monday’s championship game against the host Eagles.

Knightstown (14-12) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning but saw the Tigers (15-14) score five times in the top of the second to take the lead.

Triton Central extended the lead to 6-3 in the top half of the fifth inning before Knightstown started its rally.

In the other semifinal game, Heritage Christian blanked Eastern Hancock, 5-0.
