Collegiate Update: Southwestern graduate breaks Franklin College indoor track and field record

In just her second indoor college track and field meet, Southwestern graduate Alison Muck set a new 60-meter hurdles record for Franklin College.

Competing in the Mount St. Joseph Invitational Saturday in Cincinnati, Ohio, Muck (photo) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.47 seconds to break the old Franklin College record of 9.58 set in 2013.

Muck also finished seventh in the 200 meters (29.38).

Four other Shelby County graduates also competed in the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.

 

 

Muck’s teammate and fellow Southwestern graduate Taylor Tatlock placed fifth in the women’s weight throw at 41 feet, one inch.

 

 

Hanover’s Zaleeya Martin, a Shelbyville graduate, finished runner-up in the 60 meters (7.89).

 

 

Franklin College’s Jill Anspaugh, a Shelbyville graduate, reached the podium with a seventh-place finish in the one-mile run (6:03.21).

 

 

And Madalyn Hudnall, a Waldron graduate competing for Mount St. Joseph, finished second in the shot put (35-0) and 11th in the weight throw (32-9).

Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

 

 

Maya Chandler

The Triton Central graduate had two points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal Sunday for Loyola in a 67-51 loss to LaSalle.

The Ramblers dropped to 6-13 overall and 1-5 against Atlantic 10 opponents.

 

 

Hayden Langkabel

The Morristown graduate finished with 19 points, one rebound, two steals and four assists Saturday in Marian’s 95-74 win over Mt. Vernon Nazarene.

The Knights are 17-4 (7-4 Crossroads League).

 

 

Kyle Crim

The Morristown graduate was credited with one assist in eight minutes of playing time Saturday for Hanover in a 73-35 win over Bluffton.

The Panthers are 10-7 (6-4 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).

 

 

Taylor Heath

The Triton Central graduate produced a double-double Saturday for Hanover in a 60-55 win over Bluffton.

Heath had 10 points and 10 assists and added two rebounds and a steal to improve the Panthers to 11-5 (8-1 HCAC).

 

 

Drake Moore

The Morristown graduate had five points and one rebound Saturday for Oakland City in a 76-61 loss to the University of Rio Grande.

On Thursday, Moore totaled seven points, one assist and one blocked shot in a 76-68 loss to Ohio Christian.

Oakland City is 8-13 this season.

 

 

Bella Larrison

The Waldron graduate had six points, six rebounds and one block Saturday in Anderson’s 54-52 loss at Mount St. Joseph.

Anderson is 10-7.

 

 

Cameron Baker

The Shelbyville graduate scored a pair of runner-up finishes in two diving events Friday for Franklin College in wins over Rose-Hulman (157-143) and Hanover (252-21).

Baker finished second in the one-meter diving competition with 237.25 points. He also finished second in the three-meter event with 212.9 points.

 

 

Chandler Martin

The Shelbyville graduate won the high jump competition Saturday for the University of Indianapolis in the UIndy Classic.

Martin cleared 1.83 meters to win the event.

 

 

Michael Fox

The Shelbyville graduate placed 15th in the 3,000 meters Friday for Manchester in the Larry Cole Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

Fox crossed the finish line in 9:49.8.

 

 

Kina Schultz

The Shelbyville graduate finished ninth in the 400 meters (1:08.98), fifth in the 60 hurdles (10.33) and third in the 800 relay (2:00.52) for Muskingum in the Muskingum Meet in New Concord, Ohio.

Mastodon Invitational

Three former Golden Bears competed in the Mastodon Invitational, hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne.

 

 

Madisen Hinderliter, competing for St. Francis (Ind.), finished 11th in the weight throw (42-6.75).

 

 

Sequoia Gilbert, also part of the St. Francis roster, placed 18th in the 60 meters (8.57) and 16th in the 200 (29.18).

 

 

Konrad Dorsey, running for Trine, finished 25th in the 60 meters (7.80) and 23rd in the 200 (25.97).
