New boys head basketball coaches named with Nash at Columbus East and Theising at East Central

Two boys basketball coaches with Shelby County ties have been named head coaches this week.

Former Triton Central head coach Perry Nash has been approved as the new boys head basketball coach at Columbus East. Nash replaces Brent Chitty, who stepped down after 13 seasons as the Olympians head coach.

Nash has been an assistant coach at Franklin Central since leaving Triton Central.  He's 64-69 as a head coach in four seasons with the Tigers and two seasons at Jac-Cen-Del after working as an assistant at Shelbyville.

At East Central, assistant Tyler Theising replaces longtime head coach Dave Disbro. Theising, a 2009 graduate and player for Disbro and the Trojans, returned home to East Central as an assistant last season. He compiled a 58-36 record in four seasons as the head coach at South Ripley. He was a Shelbyville assistant prior to that.

Disbro steps away from the sideline after 24 seasons leading the Trojans. His career record is 332-220 with 18 winning seasons, including a sectional championship in 2008.
