Class 2A, No. 14 Triton Central collects 15th win of season

Maryrose Felling scored 13 of her game-high 21 points in the opening quarter Tuesday and Class 2A, No. 14 Triton Central pinned a 44-30 loss on a future Indiana Crossroads Conference member.

The sophomore hit a trio of 3-pointers in the opening eight minutes as the Tigers roared out to a 17-9 lead over Covenant Christian, who will join the ICC next season replacing Cascade.

Triton Central’s defense limited the Warriors to just three second-quarter points and extended its lead to 25-12 at halftime.

Covenant Christian’s offense never got in gear in the second half and Triton Central held its 10th opponent of the season to 30 points or less.

Brooklyn Bailey finished with 14 points for Triton Central on Senior  Night. Fellow seniors Hailey Harris and Lucy Spall each scored four points.

Moriah Armstrong led Covenant Christian (6-14) with eight points. Avery Reichart and Vivian Haffner each scored six for the Warriors, who are 2-3 this season against ICC competition.

Triton Central (15-5) will host its highly-successful Pink Out Game Friday against Lawrenceburg (12-8).
