Collegiate Update: Muck wins hurdling event for Franklin College in Terre Haute

Southwestern graduate Alison Muck won the 60-meter hurdles competition for Franklin College Friday night in Terre Haute.

Competing at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Friday Night Spikes Meet, Muck crossed the finish line in 9.75 seconds to win the hurdling event.

Muck also finished fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.48 meters.

 

 

Shelbyville graduate Tristin Maloney, also competing for Franklin College, placed 24th in the 1-mile run in 5:43.51.

Here is a look at other Shelby County graduates competing at the collegiate level.

 

 

Maya Chandler

The Triton Central graduate had four rebounds and two assists for SMU Wednesday in a 68-66 win over Temple.

The Mustangs are 10-10 this season and 4-5 against American Athletic Conference foes.

 

 

Olivia Faust

The Triton Central graduate had one rebound Saturday for No. 5 Marian in a 70-47 victory at Grace College.

The Knights are 19-1 this season and unbeaten (10-0) against Crossroads League opposition.

 

 

Kyle Crim

The Morristown graduate had two points and one assist Saturday in Hanover’s 77-70 loss at Bluffton University.

On Wednesday, Crim notched two points in an 83-72 victory over Franklin College.

Hanover is 12-7 (8-4 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).

 

 

Taylor Heath

The Triton Central graduate scored 14 points, dished out nine assists and had two steals in Hanover’s 71-62 win at Bluffton.

On Wednesday at Franklin, Heath totaled a team-high 20 points and added four assists in a 75-70 win at Franklin.

The Panthers are 13-6 (11-1 HCAC).

 

 

Drake Moore

The Morristown graduate scored a game-high 35 points Saturday and had six rebounds and one block in Oakland City’s 81-76 loss at Brescia University.

Oakland City is 7-13 this season.

 

 

Tenleigh Phelps and Lizzie Graham

Phelps, a Triton Central graduate, grabbed an Indiana University South Bend single-game record 19 rebounds Wednesday in the Titans’ 80-45 win over Holy Cross. Phelps, who broke the nearly 20-year-old record, also scored 14 points and had three assists.

On Saturday, Phelps finished with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals in IU South Bend’s 91-42 win at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Graham, also a Triton Central graduate, had three points and one steal against Trinity Christian.

The Titans are 20-0 and have a two-game lead with a 12-0 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.

 

 

Bella Larrison

The Waldron graduate had nine points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal Wednesday in Anderson’s 76-52 win over Defiance.

Larrison collected 10 points, six rebounds and one assist Saturday in an 80-62 loss at Mount St. Joseph.

The Ravens are 9-10 (5-7 HCAC).

 

 

Cameron Baker

The Shelbyville graduate won both diving competitions Saturday for Franklin College in a dual meet win at Indiana Wesleyan.

Baker totaled 272.05 points in winning the one-meter diving competition, and 253.95 points in the three-meter competition.

 

 

Zaleeya Martin

The Shelbyville graduate finished 13th in the 60-meter dash for the University of Indianapolis and 34th in the 200 at the IUPUI Invitational held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Martin crossed the finish line in 7.9 seconds in the 60 meters and 26.77 seconds in the 200.

 

 

Kina Schultz

The Shelbyville graduate placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and 25th in the 200 for Muskingum Saturday in the Muskie Meet held at the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex in New Concord, Ohio.

Schultz clocked 9.97 seconds in the 60 hurdles and 28.93 seconds in the 200.

Steemer Showcase

At Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, four Shelby County graduates competed in the track and field showcase.

 

 

Morristown graduate Jacob Batten finished 56th in the 400 meters in 55.13.

 

 

Allison Batten, also a Morristown graduate, finished 45th in the 400 in 1:01.5.

 

 

Shelbyville graduate Michael Fox placed 41st in the 1-mile race for Manchester University in 4:55.81.

 

 

Waldron graduate Madalyn Hudnall finished ninth in the shot put for Mount St. Joseph with a top throw of 37 feet, 7.75 inches. She also finished 16th in the weight throw at 40-7.
